Policies & Holidays


Guests come to Quiet Creek Inn to commune with nature and to partake of the serenity and beauty that the property offers.  It’s the same reason our neighbours bought their homes.  For this reason we will only book events that support the quiet enjoyment of the neighbourhood that we and our neighbours expect in this peaceful mountain community.


Please note that at all times, policies in our reservations system and attached to your specific booking override and supersede any general policies as outlined here. Information included here is to help you plan your booking, and you will be presented with polices, terms and conditions applicable to your particular reservation during your booking and in your confirmation.


By using this website and reservation booking system, you agree that Quiet Creek Inn may withdraw or cancel any offer or availablity at any time or any booked reservation within 48 hours of  being made as allowed by law, in particular in the unusual instance of an error or glitch. With the exception of cancellations made for errors, Quiet Creek Inn will do our best to correct the issue first, and will always seek approval before modifying any reservation in the rare instances necessary for other reasons.


A rent deposit equivalent to one-night’s lodging plus occupancy tax is due and collected at the time of the booking for stays of less than one week; stays booked after the cancellation cutoff date will have the entire balance due collected as a deposit. For stays of longer than one week 50% of the lodging plus occupancy tax (when applicable) will be collected at the time of booking. If you must cancel, your deposit, less a processing fee (based on your rate), is refundable if we are notified by the rate cancellation deadline in your booking when you reserved and sent in your confirmation. This is usually one or two weeks in advance of your arrival date. In the event of a cancellation with less notice than the above, regardless of reason, the guest expressly authorizes innkeeper to charge the balance due to the guest’s credit card. Unless authorized by Innkeeper (such as a scheduled late check in), failure to check-in during the standard check-in period (2-5 p.m.) signifies a “no show” and relieves the innkeeper of the responsibility of holding the room for any additional nights. National holidays and local event days often carry an earlier cutoff date (30 days for some) unless the Flexible Direct rate is booked. Advance Purchase rates, if offered, also carry more restrictions, including being non-refundable.


To avoid errors and for your protection, any Notice to Quiet Creek Inn for modifications or cancellations must be delivered via email during regular business hours (9am-5pm USA PST daily), and if received outside business hours will be considered received the next business day. We highly recommend replying to the confirmation email with your instructions, then calling to confirm receipt; our systems are the only official record of receipt, as we cannot be responsible for server/filter errors.


Weekends (Friday & Saturday nights) have a two-night minimum stay requirement. Holidays listed on on this page will have 2,3,or longer minimum stays.

One night bookings may be allowed if there is any left-over availability, usually just a few days prior.   Discount rates, if offered, are not guaranteed until booked and confirmed. Most discounts are only available online and on our own website (not a partner site). Discounted weekly pricing is available for longer-staying guests.


Check in time is from 2:00 pm to 5 pm with the option for later check in with prior appointment and arrangement. Late arrivals are only accepted with prior scheduled appointment. Details and instructions will be provided on check-in day. When occupancy is high we cannot guarantee that accommodations will be ready by 2:00 pm, although we make every effort toward that goal. Check out is by 11 am.


A maximum of two pets are allowed in designated 'pet friendly' cabins with prior approval and a cleaning & facility maintenance/use pet fee per night. Please click BOOK NOW to use our reservation system and see the current pet fee.  Additional pet policies apply, see details in the section below.


Pricing is based on double occupancy to make our cabins more affordable. Registration & occupancy of more than two guests is subject to a $20 per night per guest fee for each additional occupant regardless of age. Infants less than 12 months old in bassinets or port-a-cribs are excluded from the additional person fee. Additional roll-away beds or sleeper sofas, if available, are also an additional $20 per night regardless of occupancy. Occupancy is established at the time of the booking. The innkeeper must be notified in advance about any change in the number of guests, which might require separate accommodations and/or change the rate. Max occupancy for studio cabins is three persons, suite cabins up to five persons.


For the safety and privacy of paying guests, only registered guests are allowed on-property. Visitors are only allowed if registered on the reservation, subject to occupancy policy, limitations & applicable fees, if any.


Smoking is only allowed in the outdoors designated smoking area and not within 20 feet of any cabin, buildings or common areas shared by guests or staff, in compliance with California State and other laws.


For environmental and fire safety reasons only 'DuraFlame' style fire logs may be used; wood fires are prohibited. Quiet Creek Inn will provide one fire log per night. Additional fire logs are available for purchase.  


Bookings of 4 or more cabins, whether booked individually or at once, fall under Group Booking rates/policies and have more restrictive cancellation cutoffs (Generally 90 days). Should a booking or set of bookings have an affinity or relation that would normally be handled as a group under general hotel practices, the rate and cancellation terms may be retroactively modified at managements sole discretion to group rates and terms. For this reason, QCI management recommends making inquiries and bookings for 4 or more related cabins directly with QCI staff via phone during normal business hours.


Access to or departure from the inn cannot be guaranteed because of inclement weather events, such as snow or ice, or other acts of god.


Errors & omissions in advertising, listing, availability or booking can occur. Stay Idyllwild Group of inns (Quiet Creek & Strawberry Creek) are not responsible for such errors, whether technical or human in nature. Should an error occur, we may choose to either honor the reservation request or booking as-is or cancel it at our sole discretion at any time and without notice. Our liability is limited to the refund of any Advance Payments taken.


Violating a policy can be grounds for immediate eviction, forfeiture of lodging fees and liability for damages.


Guest agrees to sign a liability waiver and other registration forms at check in. Refusal to complete the check in and registration process, including waiver, shall be deemed as guests' exercising their right to cancel same-day, with applicable penalties and fees.

Pet and Animal Policies

Please note: only some cabins are pet-friendly

Even as a pet-friendly property, pets and animals are allowed only in cabins designated as 'Pet Friendly', not all cabins, and the outside grounds.

If you are bringing a pet, we highly advise and request advance notice to ensure you are confirmed into a pet-friendly room that is prepared correctly. Please ensure you book into a Pet Friendly designated room and also purchase the 'Add On' for Pet Accommodation (1 or 2) which will be offered immediately after the "Complete Your Reservation" screen and you are given a reservation confirmation number. Failure to indicate you are bringing a pet by booking into a pet-friendly room and selecting this option at time of booking or prior to arrival may result in our not being able to accommodate your pet upon arrival.

  • Up to two animals (dogs / cats) per cabin, (45 lbs max each). Fees of $30 one pet, or $50 two pets, per night apply, subject to change.
  • For safety and allergies, pets are not allowed in any of the common shared areas nor any rooms not specifically designated as pet-friendly. Additionally, pets/animals are not allowed inside the barn lounge or office at any time.
  • All dogs may not be left alone in the cabins unless crated and quiet. Cats must be crated unless a scratching pad or post is provided.
  • All animals and pets must be groomed/hygienic, leashed or harnessed, quiet and under their owner’s control at all times for safety of other guests and staff. All dogs must be leashed and under control at all times when outside your cabin on Quiet Creek Inn property. Cats must be held or in a carrier/stroller or harness.
  • All pets and animals are not allowed on the furniture, including bed(s), unless you provide your own cover for the furniture or use the pet/animal blanket provided.
  • Dogs may be “Walked” on the trails and open areas by the creek on the left of cabin #1. Please use the natural (not gravel) paths. Dogs may NOT be walked in the areas between the barn and units nor any other areas. Cats must use litter boxes (provided by the guest).
  • You must clean up after your pet or animal while on the property – even if in a wooded area.  Refuse must be disposed of in a “tied off” plastic bag in an outdoor trash can; one such outdoor trash can is adjacent to the office, at the foot of the stairs on the right.
  • If your animal has been in the creek, is dirty or wet, please use the cream or brown dog towels provided.  Please do not use white “human” towels in your room.
