This place was great. The photos hardly do it justice. It had snowed 8″ the morning we got there and we got 2 more in the afternoon, but with the fully equiped kitchen we are all set up for creating some fabulous dinners and have a quiet evening with friends. Jim at Quiet Creek was very friendly and helpful at check in. He made sure the driveway was plowed before we arrived and someone came later to shovel the stairs and decks. 2 things people should know – the fireplace only takes duraflame logs. (Our friends brought oak firewood thinking we could use it in the fireplace.) And at night if you have the heat on and the bedroom doors closed, the bedrooms get extremely hot. We only had the heat on 63 but it was 80 in the 2 bedrooms till I got up and turned off the heat completely. That said – this place is beautifully furnished and the most well equipped house we ever rented. Diane, San Diego

Our stay at Quiet Creek Inn was just wonderful. This is our second stay at Quiet Creek and we were very satisifed with each stay. The facilities were beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Every aspect of our stay was excellent, from the beautiful 1 bedroom suite to the relaxing time spent by the rushing river just a few feet away from our cabin. It was a beautiful place to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversay! Suzy & Ron, San Diego

Our second stay and we will return many times again. Quiet, incredible view of the mountain, the Stellar Jays, Squirrels, Chipmunks – all the perfect elements to quickly unwind and get back to serenity. Bella Luna is completely furnished with everything you need and nicely decorated and maintained. It’s a 5 Star. (Bring a blow dryer.) Alan & Cathy, Poway, CA

I visit Idyllwild every other month or so. For Idyllwild School of the Arts. I stay at the Quiet Creek Inn. Over the years I have stayed at several other places but this has been by far the most outstanding experience. The evenings are so quiet and peaceful you can fall asleep in seconds, which I do as soon as my head hits the pillow. The rooms are clean the beds are comfortable, and the owners are the nicest people you will ever meet. Julius, Scottsdale, Az

Our experience at Quiet Creek continues to be a consistently excellent experience. We anticipate the quiet and serenity of the cabin/grounds and our peaceful walks along Strawberry Creek. Jim and Mike continue to provide an exceptional vacation experience. This visit we spend a long visit in the ‘Living Room Gallery’ enjoying interesting company, a small libation, and a great time viewing the local eclectic art collection. We also borrowed the Inn’s Adventure Pass and hiked Devil’s Slide until we were stopped by the thick/slippery snowpack. We look forward to our next trip up the “hill”.

I surprised my boyfriend with an overnight getaway with the dogs. We arrived at the Quiet Creek Inn and were kindly greeted by Jim. We were shown around, told where things were, signed a quick receipt and given the key. The cabin was clean, spacious, cozy and perfect. Well priced for an overnight cabin with private porch, balcony, kitchenette, creek view and the possibility to bring your dogs. Squirrels were everywhere yet not bothersome. Duck swam around the creek yet we never heard them quack. We grabbed a bottle of wine and sat at the rustic, picnic style chairs and breathed in the Idylwild air. It was so peaceful and serene, I forgot about all else. When we went back into the cabin, the heater kept the room oh so toasty and turned on basketball finals on the beautiful flat screen. I walked over to the barn looking room that had free coffee, hot chocolate and water. Sodas and Gatorades available for one dollar on the honor system. We made dinner and slept in the oh so comfortable bed. We awoke Easter morning and put peanuts on the balcony railing. Within minutes, squirrels and blue jays were swooping in for the treats. We took a hike down along the creek and stumbled along some vacant campgrounds. We saw a few bunnies and more squirrels. The dogs loved running around and we loved the peace and serenity of the Inn. I would definitely recommend the Quiet Creek Inn, just as it was recommended to me!

Jim and Mike’s attention to making our stay pleasant and stress free got us right in step with the Idyllwild state of mind. Cabin #10 had just enough cabin feeling (i.e. knotty pine) and just enough decorator touches to be really comfortable. The extended balcony/deck was so serene and the perfect spot for morning coffee and a glass of wine in the evening. Being the last cabin really gave the feeling of being in the woods. My husband and I so enjoyed walking along the creek it became part of the ending of each day. We enjoyed taking a few movies from the “barn” each night. We liked that the property is nicely left natural with a little manicuring to keep it safe and clean. I would have to say the one page overview that Jim gave us at check in of places in town to pick up necessities, galleries to visit and especially the restaurants helped us tremendously. And, Jim was spot on when it came to his recommendations. Ron & Kathy, San Clemente, CA

My husband and I stayed in room #5 and what a beautiful experience we had. As we drove up to the property we were surrounded by beautiful pine trees and the sound of the tranquil creek that runs through the grounds. The owners were quite helpful, they answered all of questions thoroughly, i.e.; which hikes to take, which restaurants to eat at and gave us some history on the little artist villages. Now our room couldn’t have been nicer with the view of the creek, a fireplace at the foot of the bed and a cute little kitchenette with a coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator and my favorite fiesta ware. Waking up and looking out the window was priceless as we watched the blue jays fly by the squirrels climbing the trees and the quail cruising around. Oh yes and for those of you want to curl up to a movie there is a huge selection of DVD’s and VHS movies to choose from. All in all we loved our stay and will be back soon. Happy Hiking and Happy Relaxing.

Best feature: Master bath with large tub overlooking Tacquitz Peak and open tile shower. Very romantic! Worst feature: Narrow, steep driveway. Best suited for small four-wheel drive vehicles. Beautiful home perched on a hillside above town with lots of windows, most without coverings. Lots of decks to enjoy the outdoors. Gorgeous kitchen, lots of countertops. Unusual refrigerator/freezer configuration. Wood burning stove in livingroom but lighting is poor for reading. Bring IPOD to play on BOSE IPOD dock with speakers
